What a f*cking year it's been.
What has COVID-19 taught us about healthcare communications?
That's the topic I'm exploring in my current book. 2020 has shown just how imperative clear, no-bullshit public health communications is. It's also shown that good comms can be a matter of life and death, literally. It's been a rough year and it's not over yet. But 2021 is in sight. And I want to look ahead. I'm in the final stages of this project, an exploration of what did and didn't work in the COVID-19 communications scramble. The one conclusion I've reached so far? Storytelling is the key. At a time when we are more removed and siloed from one another than ever, the hunger for human connection is real. Stories are what has brought people together in the past year.
